Bailey's Stocking

When Matt and I got married, he would comment every year at Christmas how his mother made each of them a homemade stocking and how he sure would like one! Well after hearing this for years, I decided to do this for him. Little did I know each stocking would take a year's time! I did it though! A pic of our stockings are under the December posts. So when I found out we were expecting I picked Bailey out a special stocking and started sewing. I just finished this week. I sure hope she likes it one day!

I cannot believe my baby girl is a month old! Time is going by fast already! The past month has been incredible. She is such a joy! Matt and I laugh at her cute little noises and faces. She is still sleeping most of the time, but she has discovered her lungs! Ha! She can let them rip if she wants too! She is eating about every 4 hours and getting up once at nights. She recognizes our voices and is trying so hard to hold her head up by herself. She loves her bouncer seat and does not like tummy time :) We made our first overnight trip to Jackson last weekend and had a blast! She had so much fun with Chickie and Jay and Sarah and Brad. And Matt and I got to go out by ourselves to Marble Slab :)! Life is good!

Mrs. Susan Connell

My heart is filled with sadness today as a wonderful Christian lady and a sweet friend has gone to be with the Lord. I first met Mrs. C when I was 13, and she came by our house for something. Before she left between her and my mother I had been hired as an "Elf" to work for her at Christmas. I did not know what my mother had gotten me into...well she got me into knowing and loving one of the finest families I have ever known. I have more memories with Mrs. Connell than I can count. From wrapping gifts, planning Christmas parties and tea parties, taking care of her precious pups, running errands, road trips to Atlanta, making scrapbooks, and trips with her and the grandkids to Memphis! Mrs. C was full of energy and full of love for her family. She never thought of herself but always of others. Just a couple of weeks ago when she was battling multiple medical problems she brought my parents a feast. Just a couple of months ago she helped to give me the most beautiful baby shower. I just want to say that the world is a better place for Mrs. Connell having been in it, and I am a better person for having known her. I love you Mrs. C and you will be greatly missed!

Our sweet little girl is 2 weeks old! We are enjoying her so much. We had our 2 week check up yesterday, and she is weighing 6 pounds 3 ounces! The doctor thought that was great! She is such a joy to take care of, and I love her so much!

Bailey Ann Tatum Has Arrived!!!

My sweet little girl came into this world on January 5 at 4:35 p.m.! She weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long! She has blond hair and of course blue eyes for the moment! She is absolutely beautiful and perfect! Matt and I are praising God for her health and safety. I entered the hospital in Jackson on Monday night and was induced on Tuesday morning. It was a long and painful morning until I got my epidural which is the most wonderful invention! Our family and friends were all there to welcome sweet Bailey here! We have felt so loved and blessed by everyone, and I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can't believe she is a week old and already up to 5.10! She is a great eater and the best sleeper I have ever seen. We are treasuring every moment with her!
